Chapter Eight

Kieve came awake with the sudden awareness that he’d forgotten something.

Shit. The puppy. Poor thing was probably desperate to get out by now.

He hadn’t meant to stay that long. He’d told himself to get up, but then Reese had crawled back into bed and cuddled up behind him. The post-sex glow had dragged him into sleep. At least briefly.

The novelty of sleeping with someone beside him after so long sleeping solo had woken him up in the middle of the night.

His movements had woken Reese as well. Neither had been awake enough for anything elaborate. Instead, Reese had rolled Kieve onto his side and taken his ass in slow, gentle strokes. It hadn’t been the hard pounding of earlier in the night, but then Kieve wasn’t sure his ass could take that. Instead, it had been sweet and sexy. A soft, sleepy fuck that had made Kieve moan and finally shout when he came.

They’d both fallen back asleep almost immediately.

The heat of Reese’s body reminded him of how the wolf had pressed up against him while he’d slept. Strange, he hadn’t seen Fido last night when he’d arrived.

He quickly cleaned up, then slipped out. He left the door open a crack, needing the thin shaft of light to find his clothes. He glanced at Reese, naked except for where the sheet covered his hip. Next time, Kieve vowed, they were fucking with the lights on so he could see his lover.

He bent down and grabbed his jeans tugging them on and pulling his shirt over his head. He had Dex’s number and could call later.

Reese moaned and Kieve couldn’t stop his eyes from wandering to the beautiful body of his lover. Reese rolled over until he was flat on his back and gloriously naked, his cock soft against his thigh. The bathroom light washed across the man’s chest and hips.

Kieve licked his lips. Nothing he’d like better than to run his tongue—

He stopped, his eyes locking on the mark on Reese’s hip. He blinked, expecting the red dragon to disappear, but when he opened his eyes, it was still there.

A red dragon tattoo on his hip, just where his dream lover had had one. Kieve distinctly remembered licking the outline of that tattoo in his dream.

He looked up. Reese’s face was in shadow, just like Kieve’s dream lover.

This is not possible.
